When you book an eye test online, we ask for your name, email address, phone number and the time you choose. When you phone, email or WhatsApp us, we receive whatever you choose to share.

Giving us your details is voluntary, but we need your name and a way to contact you to make and confirm a booking. Please don’t include medical details in a booking or message; we’ll discuss your eyes in person. Because a booking shows that you are seeing an optometrist, we treat it as confidential health information.

This website does not use advertising or tracking cookies of its own, and it does not run analytics. The booking calendar (Cal.com) and the map (Google Maps) are provided by those services and may set their own cookies when they load. Our website host, Cloudflare, keeps short-lived technical logs (such as IP addresses) to deliver and protect the site.

Only to arrange and confirm your appointment, to contact you about it, and to reply to your enquiries. We do not sell your information or use it for marketing lists.

Online bookings are handled by Cal.com, our booking service, and appear in our Google Workspace calendar and email. If you message us on WhatsApp, that conversation is carried by WhatsApp (Meta). The website is hosted by Cloudflare.

These providers may store information on servers outside South Africa. We use them because they are needed to take and confirm your booking, and they are bound by their own data protection terms that offer protection comparable to POPIA. We share your information with no one else unless the law requires it.

Your information is kept in password-protected accounts that only the practice can access, and the website uses a secure (https) connection. Only people who need it to look after your appointment can see it.

Booking and enquiry details are kept for as long as we need them to look after you as a patient, or as long as the law requires, and are then deleted.

You may ask to see the personal information we hold about you, and ask us to correct or delete it. You may also object to how we use it. Contact our Information Officer using the details above.
